THE BOOK OF ECCLESIASTES (PART SIX)

ECCLESIASTES WAS WRITTEN TO THE MAN UNDER THE SUN (THE FLESH MAN).

THIS BOOK TEACHES YOU HOW TO BE HAPPY WHILE YOU ARE IN THE FLESH.

Ecclesiastes 6:1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:

THE EVIL IS THE HARDSHIP MEN HAVE TO ENDURE SOME TIMES IN THIS FLESH LIFE.

6:2   A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honor, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger  eateth it: this is vanity (EMPTINESS), and it is an evil disease.

IT IS AN EVIL DISEASE IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY FOR ALL THE RICHES AND WEALTH GOD HAS GIVEN YOU AND WANT MORE. IT'S CALLED GREED.

6:3  If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good (JOY), and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he.

A MISCARRIAGE WOULD BE BETTER TO SOMEONE WHO CANNOT BE HAPPY WITH GOD'S BLESSINGS, BUT THINK EVERYTHING IS A BURDEN.

6:4  For he cometh with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.

AN EMPTY PERSON WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF THE DAY.

6:5  Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known anything: this hath more rest than the other.

A MISCARRIAGE WILL BE BETTER IF YOU CAN'T ENJOY YOUR BLESSINGS.

6:6  Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good (DOES NO GOOD): do not all go to one place ?

EVEN IF HE LIVED A THOUSAND YEARS HE HAS NO JOY IN LIFE ; HE IS WALKING IN DARKNESS.

WE ALL GOING TO GO IN THE SAME PLACE (HEAVEN). BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE GOD IN YOU YOU WON'T STAY THERE.

6:7  All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

THE LABOR FOR THE FLESH MAN IS ONLY GOING TO FEED HIS PHYSICAL SELF, NOT THE SPIRIT. WITHOUT THE SPIRITUAL SELF THERE IS NOT COMPLITNESS.

6:8  For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?

THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS GOD (PROVERBS 1:7).

A WISE PERSON FEEDS HIS SPIRITUAL SELF.

6:9  Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit (CHASING THE WIND).

DON'T BE A DREAMER WHO CAN NEVER SEE REALITY; BE RESPONSIBLE.

LOOK AT THE WORD AND BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS.

6:10  That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man (CLAY, FLESH): neither may he contend with Him That is mightier than he.

YOU ARE MADE OUT OF CLAY. YOU CANNOT OVERCOME GOD WHO MADE YOU FROM THAT CLAY.

6:11  Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?

6:12  For who knoweth what is good for man in his life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow ? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun (HE DIES AND GOES BACK TO THE FATHER. HAVING ETERNAL LIFE DEPENDS IF YOU HAVE GOD IN YOU)?

WHEN YOU WALK IN THE LIGHT YOU HAVE A SHADOW. YOU DON'T HAVE A SHADOW IF YOU WALK IN DARKNESS.

CHRIST IS THE LIGHT AND WITHOUT HIM THERE IS DARKNESS.

GOD BLESS

ECCLESIASTES (CHAPTER FIVE)

IN THIS CHAPTER SOLOMON ADDRESSES THE WORKS OF MAN.

ECCLESIASTES WAS WRITTEN BY SOLOMON AND IT TEACHES YOU HOW TO BE HAPPY IN THIS FLESH LIFE.

Ecclesiastes 5:1  Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE RIGHT HOUSE OF GOD.

SOME PEOPLE GO TO CHURCH FOR THE WRONG REASONS.

THEY DON'T CARE WHAT IS TAUGHT THERE. THEY GO FOR REPUTATION.

IN OTHER WORDS, THEY ARE PUTTING ON A SHOW.

5:2  Be not rash (DEMAND) with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few (WATCH YOUR MOUTH).

5:3  For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE A GOOD PLANNER; A FOOL TALKS A LOT BUT SAYS NOTHING.

5:4  When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

DON'T MAKE A VOW UNTO GOD AND DON'T PAY IT. IT'S BETTER IF YOU DON'T DO IT AT ALL.

5:5  Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay (TO THE FATHER).

5:6  Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

DON'T MAKE PROMISES TO GOD AND THEN SAY TO HIS ANGEL I DIDN'T MEAN IT.

5:7  For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities (FOOLISHNESS): but fear (REVERE) God.

IN MANY DREAMS AND MANY WORDS, ALSO THERE IS GREAT FOOLISHNESS: REFERRING TO VERSE 3 ABOVE.

5:8  If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for He That is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

JUDICIALLY SPEAKING, A COURT THAT IS MESSING UP WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO GOD. HE IS WATCHING.

5:9  Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.

I OWN IT ALL, SAYS SOLOMON. I'M BLESSED TO HAVE A HELPER TO HELP ME IN THE FIELD. WE ALL NEED TO HELP EACH OTHER.

5:10  He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

THE GOODS OF THE LAND IS BETTER THAN SILVER. WHY? BECAUSE YOU CAN EAT THE GOODS, BUT SILVER YOU CAN ONLY LOOK AT IT.

5:11  When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is thereto the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?

5:12  The sleep of laboring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

ONE WHO WORKS HARD FOR HIS MONEY SLEEPS WELL AT NIGHT. BUT THE ONE WHO HAS GOTTEN RICH BY EVIL GAINS DOES NOT.

5:13  There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun (FLESH), namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.

IN OTHER WORDS, A RICH MAN (WHO DOES NOT HAVE GOD IN THEIR HEART) WHO CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH RICHES, HE WILL WORRY ALL THE TIME OF HOW TO MAKE MORE, OR NOT TO LOSE WHAT HE HAS.

5:14  But those riches perish by evil travail (HE MADE A WRONG MOVEMENT): and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand (HE GOT RIPPED OFF).

5:15  As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

THE ONLY THING YOU CAN TAKE WITH YOU IS THE WORK YOU'VE DONE FOR GOD (REV. 14:13).

5:16  And this also is a sore evil that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath labored for the wind (CHASING THE WIND)?

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS LOVING GOD. ONLY THROUGH HIM YOU CAN GET WISDOM AND BLESSINGS.

5:17  All his days also he eateth in darkness (SATAN IS THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS), and he hath much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

IF YOU FOLLOW THE DARK SIDE YOU WILL HAVE SORROWS AND SICKNESS OF MIND.

5:18  Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor that he taketh under the sun all the days in his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

ENJOY THE BLESSINGS GOD HAS GIVEN YOU.

ENJOY YOUR LIFE.

5:19  Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof (TO ENJOY IT), and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR THE GIFTS GOD HAS GIVEN YOU.

5:20  For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

FOLLOWING HIM BRINGS JOY.

GOD BLESS

ECCLESIASTES (CHAPTER FOUR)

ECCLESIASTES IS WRITTEN TO THE MAN UNDER THE SUN (THE FLESH MAN).

IT IS WRITTEN BY SOLOMON AND TEACHES YOU HOW TO HAVE A PEACE OF MIND IN THE FLESH.

Ecclesiastes 4:1  So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of the oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

THE COMFORTER IS THE HOLY SPIRIT AND IT CAME LATER, ON PENTECOST DAY.

4:2  Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

THE DEAD HAVE A REASON TO BE HAPPY; THEY ARE WITH THE FATHER.

4:3  Yea, better is he than both they, which have not yet been (THEY ARE NOT BORN YET), who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

4:4  Again, I considered (I THOUGHT DEEP) all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

BE THANKFUL OF WHAT YOU HAVE AND DO NOT ENVY YOUR NEIGHBOR.

4:5  The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.

A FOOL DOES NOT ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING. HE IS LAZY AND GOD DOES NOT CARE FOR LAZY PEOPLE.

4:6  Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.

IT'S BETTER TO HAVE A HANDFUL OF SOMETHING ACCOMPLISHED, THAN BOTH HANDS FULL OF TROUBLE CHASING THE WIND.

4:7  Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.

4:8  There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, 'For who do I labor, and bereave my soul of good ?' This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

HE IS ADDRESSING  WORKAHOLICS. WORK IS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT.

4:9  Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.

HE IS TALKING ABOUT FELLOWSHIP. FELLOWSHIP BETWEEN TWO OR MORE PEOPLE IS GREAT BECAUSE YOU CAN ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER.

4:10  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow (ONE WILL ENCOURAGE THE OTHER): but woe unto him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up (IT'S NOT GOOD TO BE ALONE).

4:11  Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

IT WAS IMPORTANT IN THE PAST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE HEATING LIKE WE DO TODAY.

4:12  And if one prevail against him (OVERPOWERS ONE), two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

THEY WATCH EACH OTHER'S BACK.

4:13  Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

IT IS A BETTER SOMEONE WHO IS STRAITENED IN MEANS, THAN A FOOLISH KING WHO WON'T TAKE ANY ADVICE.

4:14  For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.

WISDOM IS A VALUABLE THING AND IT COMES FROM GOD. WITHOUT WISDOM YOU HAVE NOTHING.

4:15  I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

4:16  There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

WITHOUT GOD YOU ARE CHASING THE WIND. ONLY WITH GOD YOU WILL HAVE HAPPINESS IN THIS FLESH BODY.

 GOD BLESS
