THE FIRE AND THE FINE BRASS PRESENT THE POWER AND STRENGTH ON HIS BODY.
2:19 I know thy works, and charity (love), and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works ; and the last to be more than the first.
HE IS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR ACTIONS BUT, HE HAS SOMETHING AGAINST THEM.
2:20 Notwithstanding, I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce My servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
THIS TYPE OF CHURCH CLAIMS TO BE VERY RELIGIOUS. HOWEVER THEY LISTEN TO FALSE TEACHINGS.
2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication ; and she repented not.
THIS TYPE OF CHURCH WILL NOT REPENT.
2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
HE IS GOING TO ALLOW SATAN (ANTICHRIST = INSTEAD OF CHRIST IN THE GREEK) TO DECEIVE AND TAKE OVER THAT CHURCH.
2:23 And I will kill her children with death ; and all the churches shall know that I am He Which searcheth the reins and hearts : and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
IN OTHER WORDS, I WILL KILL SPIRITUALLY THE CONGREGATION OF THAT CHURCH ; I'M THE ONE WHO CAN READ YOUR MIND AND SEARCH THE VERY INSIDE OF YOU. THEY WILL BE JUDGED ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.
2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak ; I will put upon you none other burdens.
DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE DOCTRINE OF THAT CHURCH.
THE OTHER MAN THAT PEOPLE WILL WORSHIP WILL BE SATAN.
2:25 But that which ye have already, hold fast till I come.
AT LEAST YOU MAINTAIN THAT.
2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations :
2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron ; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers : even as I received of My Father.
RULE = SHEPHERD.
2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
MORNING STAR = EARLY LIGHT.
NOTE: LUCIFER CALLS HIMSELF A MORNING STAR (ISAIAH 14). HE LOVES TO COPY CHRIST.
NOTE : CHURCHES ARE MENTIONED TILL THE END OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION (REV. 22:16).
2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.'
WHY HE KEEPS SAYING THAT ? BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE HAS EARS TO HEAR WITH UNDERSTANDING. HE HAS PLACED CERTAIN BLINDERS ON SOME PEOPLE FOR THEIR OWN PROTECTION (ROMANS 11:7-10). THEY ARE TOO WEAK TO SERVE CHRIST AT THAT TIME.
3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write ; 'These things saith He That hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars ; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
SEVEN SPIRITS = ANGELS.
SEVEN STARS = THE SEVEN ANGELS OF THE SEVEN CHURCHES.
NUMBER # 7 MEANS, SPIRITUAL COMPLITNESS IN BIBLICAL NUMERICS.
THIS CHURCH WAS DEAD SPIRITUALLY.
3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die : for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
HANG ON TO THE THINGS YOU GOT.
HE COMPLIMENTS THE PART THAT THIS CONGREGATION WAS TRYING.
3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
IF YOU DON'T REPENT AND TURN BACK TO MY WORD, I WILL COME ON TO YOU AS A THIEF (you do not know when a thief arrives).
THEY WILL WORSHIP SATAN THINKING HE IS CHRIST, BECAUSE, THEY DON'T KNOW THE TRUE CHRIST.
3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments ; and they shall walk with Me in white : for they are worthy.
IN WHITE = THE RIGHTEOUS GARMENT.
THEY ARE PEOPLE IN THIS CHURCH THAT KNOW THE LORD AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT.
3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment ; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
THE ONES WHO OVERCOME HE WILL NOT ERASE THEIR NAME FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE.
3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.'
3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write ; 'These things saith He That is Holy, He That is True, He That hath the key of David, He That openeth, and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth ;
THIS TYPE OF CHURCH CHRIST IS PLEASED WITH.
THE KEY OF DAVID = IT HAS TO DO WITH CHRIST. THEY KNOW THE TRUTH.
THERE IS NO MAN THAT CAN DECEIVE THIS CHURCH.
3:8 I know thy works : behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it : for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and hast not denied My name.
THIS CHURCH HAS KEPT GOD'S WORD INSTEAD OF SOMEONE ELSE'S.
3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie ; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
WHAT THIS CHURCH HAS IN COMMON WITH THE CHURCH OF SMYRNA ?
BOTH OF THOSE CHURCHES KNOW WHO THE KENITES (SATAN'S OFFSPRING) ARE.
THESE TWO TYPES OF CHURCHES CHRIST IS PLEASED WITH.
3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
THE HOUR OF TEMPTATION = SATAN TEMPTING THE WORLD WITH HIS LIES.
THIS CHURCH WILL NOT BE TEMPTED BY HIM.
3:11 Behold, I come quickly : hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
DON'T LET ANY MAN TAKE YOUR CROWN BY DECEIVING YOU.
3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the Temple of My God, and he shall go no more out : and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God : and I will write upon him My new name.
MY NEW NAME = HE RETAKES HIS WIFE SPIRITUALLY (ISAIAH 62:4).
3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.'
3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write ; 'These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God ;
3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot : I would thou wert cold or hot.
THIS TYPE OF CHURCH CANNOT MAKE UP ITS MIND.
CHRIST WANT THIS CHURCH TO MAKE UP ITS OWN MIND WHO HE WOULD FOLLOW.
3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth.
BECAUSE YOU CAN'TMAKE A STAND I'LL VOMIT YOU OUT OF MY MOUTH.
THIS CHURCH WON'T EVEN TRY TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH.
3:17 Because thou sayest, "I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing ;" and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked :
3:18 I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich ; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear ; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
A FIGURE OF SPEECH.
THIS CHURCH HAS NOTHING SPIRITUALLY, AND IT NEEDS TO SEE THE LIGHT.
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten : be zealous therefore, and repent.
ZEALOUS = ANXIOUS.
THE ONES HE LOVES HE CHASTISES. REPENT.
